The Federal Government signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the DOR Group of Israel for the production of ethanol in Nigeria.
Minister of Science and Technology, Ogbonnaya Onu, and his Minister of State, Mohammed Abdullahi, together with the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Bello Umar, signed the MoU on behalf of the Federal Government.
After signing the MoU, Abdullahi said the Federal Government was determined to execute to the letter the terms and the spirit of the agreement.
In the statement titled ‘FG, Israel sign pact o methanol production’, the minister said the agreement would significantly change the fortunes of Nigeria.
Abdullahi said the methanol technology would expand the chemical industry value-chain, replace kerosene as household cooking fuel and contribute to efficient and effective transportation.
The DOR Group of Israel, Vincent Asor said the quality and efficient engineering for which Israeli firms were well known for would be brought to bear in the implementation of the agreement.
